Opening Your Excellence
Proverbs 8:6-7
“Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
For my mouth shall speak truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.”
Beloved in Christ,
Words are not just mere sounds; they are spiritual forces that shape realities. Every word you speak carries power, either to build or to destroy, to heal or to wound, to bless or to curse. God, in His infinite wisdom, designed words to be the foundation of creation (Genesis 1:3 – “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”). If God used words to create the universe, then we, as His children, must understand that our words shape our world.
THE POWER OF SPOKEN WORDS
Spoken words are weapons—they can serve as a defence against the enemy or become a tool of destruction if misused (Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”). This is why we must be intentional about what we say, for our words can open doors to divine blessings or invite negative consequences into our lives.
SPEAK TRUTH WITH BOLDNESS
In a world filled with deception, compromise, and confusion, we are called to stand firm in truth. The Word of God is truth (John 17:17 – “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”), and as believers, we must let our words reflect honesty, integrity, and righteousness.
Reject falsehood and deception (Ephesians 4:25 – “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour.”).
Guard your lips against negativity and slander (Colossians 4:6 – “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt.”).
Proclaim only what aligns with God’s will (Job 22:28 – “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.”).
SPEAK LIFE INTO YOUR DESTINY
Many lives remain stagnant and unfruitful because of careless words spoken over time. Some have pronounced failure over themselves through statements like:
“I can never succeed.”
“Things never work out for me.”
“I will never be free from this situation.”
Such negative confessions limit God’s power in our lives. But when we begin to declare His promises boldly, we align ourselves with divine favour and supernatural breakthroughs. Instead, declare:
“I am blessed and highly favoured!” (Luke 1:28)
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” (Philippians 4:13)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want!” (Psalm 23:1)
“By His stripes, I am healed!” (Isaiah 53:5)
BE A SOURCE OF BLESSING TO OTHERS
Our words are not meant to only bless ourselves but also to uplift others. The world is full of broken hearts, discouraged souls, and weary spirits, and God has called us to be vessels of encouragement and restoration (Isaiah 50:4 “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary.”).
Encourage the weak (1 Thes. 5:11 “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another.”).
Bless others with uplifting words (Pro.16:24 “Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”).
Proclaim peace and unity wherever you go (Eph. 4:29 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”).
A PRAYERS
I pray that the blessings of the LORD will decorate your moment with peace, wisdom, and divine direction. May your words bring healing, hope, and transformation to all who hear them. May you be filled with God’s insight to declare only what aligns with His will, and may your confessions lead you to victory, prosperity, and supernatural breakthroughs. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Go forth and flourish in Christ!
Speak life, speak hope, and speak blessings, and
your words will manifest!
